Zwaartepuntvorming in de maatschappijwetenschappen en overheidsbeleid: evaluatie van de TVC-DAS-operatie

This article describes the results of an evaluation study' of a policy measure aiming at the establishment of Centers of Excellence in the social sciences. The measure was part of the retrenchment operation Task Differentiation and Concentration (TVC). The government provided six million guilders to attain this goal. The Disciplinary Advisory Committee on the Social Sciences (DAS) advised on the distribution of this funding. It turns out that the goal is only partially realized. Explanations are given for this partial goal attainment.
