community urbanness, new statistical measure, Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics
Samenvatting
The Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics recently devised a new statistical measure of community urbanness, based primarily on the degree of concentration of social & economic activity in a given area. The degree of intensity of activity is determined by the number of addresses per unit area. The first publication to appear using this new index was C. J. den Dulk's, H. van de Stadt's, & J. M. Vliegen's "Een nieuwe maatstaf voor stedelijkheid: De omgevingsadressendichtheid"([A New Measure of Urbanness: Environmental Address Density] Maandstatistiek van de bevolking, 1992, 40, July, 14-27). 3 Tables, 5 References.
