Samenvatting
Two explanatory models for the political party choice of Dutch voters (N = 1,506) are evaluated via LISREL analysis of data obtained in a 1989 national interview study. Both models consider religion, political values (postmaterialism), Left-Right self-identification, & social values. The model that takes into account short-term characteristics, eg, opinions on politicians, is found to be less successful a predictor of party choice than the model restricted to long-term characteristics. 6 Tables, 1 Chart, 1 Graph, 18 References.
