Centers of sociol'al res in Poland include the Instit of Philosophy & Sociol of the Polish Academy of Sci's, the Instit of Sociol'al Res of the Soc Sci's Coll at Warsaw & the Dept of Ru Sociol of the Instit of Agri'al Econ. Res is also conducted by the Center of PO Polls (connected with Polish radio & TV) founded in 1958. Basic techniques & res approaches are described. It is concluded that res is done primarily for its soc value, not for profit. Res reports are used by SP instit's & by the Polish Radio. Modified AA.
