D. Joubert in "a typology of value orientations" (Mens en Maatschappij, 48, 268-280), makes the distinction between value orientations & attitudes. Therefore it is disturbing that he uses attitudes to define many of his value orientations. Certain categories, such as social room (territory) contain many, diverse phenomena. Joubert is also unclear as to what the exact criteria are for evaluating the typology. Serious difficulties of interpretation will be encountered in the application of the typology. P. Tiersma.
