Samenvatting
In two studies-an experimental (number of cases = 33) & a correlational one (number of cases = 100)-the effects of the rate of participation & organizational-integrative interaction on ratings of leadership in a group were investigated. In the experimental study subjects made their ratings after hearing 1 of 2 tape-recorded discussions between 4 stimulus-persons that showed a different amount of participation & organizational-integrative interaction. In the correlational study members of 20 groups of 5 persons each discussed a problem & rated each other afterwards. Participation & organizational-integrative interaction were measured for each subject by means of an observation scheme. In both studies participation showed a rather strong, positive relationship with leadership-ratings. Organizational-integrative interaction only had an effect in the correlational study. An interpretation of these results is offered. AA.
