"Agreement" refers to the degree to which the content of texts can be constructed in the same way by different researchers. The increase in qualitative methods in sociological research, eg, content analysis & observational techniques, necessitates that there be agreement on how to report reliable conclusions. After the distinction is drawn between "agreement" & "association," attention is focused on models for establishing agreement among qualitative databases. Agreement is shown to be the more valuable of the two concepts for many types of qualitative studies. 4 Tables, 2 Figures, 22 References. M. Meeks
