A reply to J. J. Godschalk's "Voor een rechtvaardige inkomensverdeling heeft een nutsfunctie weinig nut" (A Utilization Function Is of Little Use for a Just System of Income Distribution [see abstract in this section also]). Godschalk is incorrect in asserting that the theory of comparative utilization has little value when taken from economics & transferred to the social sciences. Utilization theory is of great importance to consumer behavior studies. Similarly, utilization theory can be applied to interpersonal relationships. Admittedly, however, a purely mathematical approach cannot predict all human behavior. M. Meeks.
