Samenvatting
Factors influencing the choice of Dutch industrial workers to participate in trade union activities are examined. Variables of worker expectation of success, permission to participate in specific activities, & personal risk incurred with involvement were subjected to analyses involving statistical cross-correlation, the multiplicative power function, the linear additive function, & the single peaked preference function. Little variety was observed in the cross-correlation of data, showing most workers to be either very active in union controversies, ie, "hawks," or very disinterested & quiet, ie, "doves." This dichotomy was especially apparent in worker attitudes toward job security. 9 Tables, 4 Figures, 1 Appendix, 6 References. M. Meeks.
