Samenvatting

To examine the validity of a questionnaire on therapeutic behavior, the nursing staff (N = 17) of a Dutch hospital was registered by independent observers. The results of the independent analysis were compared with questionnaire data from the nurses' evaluations of their own behavior. A significant correlation was found between self-reported & observed behavior, consistent over the variables of time, place, medical specialization, & observers. Thus, the questionnaire on therapeutic behavior is a valid measure of the nurses' performance. Strong indications were given that patient characteristics exert much influence on therapeutic behavior. 7 Tables, 12 References. Modified HA.
