An aggregate production function framework was used to examine possible effects of the educational level of the LF on economic output -- labor & capital (the two basic factors of production). Despite the application of several alternatives for educational levels, no evidence of effects of educational level was found. Several explanations of this result are discussed. In Commentaar op J. Dronkers, "De bijdrage van de groei in onderwijsdeelname aan de economische groei 1960-1980" (Comment on J. Dronkers's "Educational Expansion and Economic Output in the Netherlands 1960-1980"), J. M. M. Ritzen (Erasmus U, Rotterdam, the Netherlands) reiterates Dronkers's main hypotheses & basically agrees with his research, but contends that Dronkers was unnecessarily restrictive. 3 Tables, 20 References.
