Onderwijs over de grenzen? Een vergelijkende analyse naar de veranderende rol van onderwijs in de sociale reproduktie in Nederland en Polen

One of the functions of education is to transmit social reproduction from one generation to the next. Research that compares systems with & without explicit educational reforms designed to reduce social inequality has often concluded that the link between education & occupation is stronger in socialist countries than in Western ones, & thus, the reproduction chain has been effectively influenced by these reforms. It is argued that such research often lacks a temporal dimension or relates only to postrevolution cohorts; thus, no conclusion can be drawn about the consequences of social reforms & the transition to socialism. An attempt is made to clear up this issue via a cohort analysis of household survey data obtained from 7,815 persons in the Netherlands & Poland. Results of multiple regression & loglinear analyses are discussed. 5 Tables, 2 Figures, 22 References. Modified HA
