Samenvatting
Several theories on the social isolation of the unemployed are compared, in particular, theories of intentional social isolation, ie, that the unemployed avoid contact with others because of feelings of shame, loss of identity, financial loss, etc. As complement to the theory of social isolation of the unemployed, a theory of structural social isolation is proposed, in which social isolation is not due to avoiding interactions but to a lack of potential interaction partners. This latter theory seems better suited to explain the social isolation of the unemployed. 12 Tables, 5 Figures, 26 References. Modified HA
