Discontentment with a technical & advising sociology & the development & qualities of a critical sociology
Samenvatting
Discontentment is revealed with technical & advising sociol, where its ultimate goal is the efficiency of the existing system. A critical sociol is needed with these characteristics: (A) problem orientation & consciousness of problems, (B) soc involvement, (C) one based on a conflict-model of society (as against functionalism), (D) reflection on the methodology of the obtaining of sociol'al knowledge, & (E) reflection on society. Critical sociol necessarily means a historical approach; it is an isolated 'new' sociol which could have some dangerous consequences. It is advisable to integrate some approaches of functionalism & empiricism into critical sociol. H. van Den Belt.
