SOCIOLOGY, EVALUATING, VERSUS ETHICAL AGNOSTICISM,
Samenvatting
If Using the terminology of bowling, the author acts as a 'pinsetter' arbitrating a dispute between 2 bowlers. J. Niezing & G. A. Kooy (see SA 0206/C5474, SA 0925/C5845, & SA 0925/C5849) It is noted that Kooy's eyes are fixed upon the past, while Niezing looks towards the future. This is a fundamental cause of their methodological dispute, or rather misunderstanding. In other words, Kooy describes a concrete phenotype, while Niezing wants to establish a general genotype. The second underlying cause of their diff's is their lack of agreement on the role of empirical sociol. However, it is concluded that there is no clear-cut diff between Kooy's `ethical agnosticism' & Niezing's `evaluating' sociol, but rather a diff emphasis. I. Langnas.
