Samenvatting

Ru history is an example of a multi-disciplinary field of study to which the sci's of sociol, economics, general history, & others contribute. Its development up until now has been hindered by a very descriptive approach of unrelated elements, by a complex of emotional att's toward Ru society, by the predominating influence of historians who were primarily interested in law, & by a static view of Ru societies. Some modern fields of Ru historical res are discussed, esp macro-econ & micro-econ res. Special attention is paid to the co-operation between Ru historians & Ru sociol'ts at Wageningen Agri'al U, not only in view of special problems, but also in relation to res methods. H. M. Jolles.
